Did you know that Engelbert Humperdinck is actually Arnold George Dorsey, born May 2, 1936? Engelbert is a popular music singer who became famous internationally during the 1960s and 1970s, after adopting the name of the famous German opera composer Engelbert Humperdinck as his own stage name. Humperdinck—who changed his name legally to his stage name at the height of his career —hit the top five British album charts in 2000 with Engelbert At His Very Best, and returned to the album top five four years later, after he appeared in a John Smiths advertisement. In August 2005, Humperdinck auctioned his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on eBay to raise money for the County Air Ambulance in Leicestershire, where he spent much of his British youth. Engelbert Humperdinck's latest album, The Winding Road, released in September 2007, is a tribute to British composers. During the creation of the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, Humperdinck was asked by Damon Albarn to perform on a selection. However, after listening to the proposed selection, he declined the offer. in February 25, 2009, Leicester City Council announced that Humperdinck would be given the Honorary Freedom of Leicester alongside author Sue Townsend and former professional footballer Alan Birchenall. Robert Lane "Bob" Saget is a stand-up comedian, actor, and television host. Although he is best known for his past roles in the family-oriented shows Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos, Saget is known outside of television for his starkly blue stand-up routine.Saget was born in Philadelphia. His father, Benjamin, was a supermarket executive, and his mother, Rosalyn, was a hospital administrator. Bob Saget lived in Norfolk, Virginia, and Encino, California, before moving back to Philadelphia and graduating from Abington Senior High School. Bob Saget originally intended to become a doctor, but his Honors English teacher, Elaine Zimmerman, saw his creative potential and urged him to seek a career in films. He enrolled at Temple University's film school, where he created Through Adam's Eyes, a black-and-white film about a boy who received reconstructive facial surgery. In 1978, the film was honored with an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards.Saget enrolled in graduate school at the University of Southern California but quit a few days later. Saget describes himself at the time in an article by Glenn Esterly in the 1990 Saturday Evening Post: "I was a cocky, overweight twenty-two-year-old. Then I had a gangrenous appendix taken out, almost died, and I got over being cocky or overweight."Saget talked about his burst appendix on Anytime with Bob Kushell, saying that it happened on the Fourth of July, at the UCLASS Medical Center and that they at first just iced the area for seven hours before taking it out and finding that it had become gangrenous. Sinbad was born November 10, 1956. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan as David Adkins. In the 1980's and 90's Sinbad became a well-known comedian and actor. He had his own HBO specials and appeared on several television series. He starred in some family-friendly films such as "First Kid," "Houseguest," and "Jingle All the Way."
Sinbad was in the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to McConnell Air Force Base located in Wichita, Kansas. He would often go into town to do his stand-up routines. He also competed as a comedian/MC in 1981 in the USAF Talent Contest.
He began his career by appearing on Star Search. From there he has appeared on various television shows and landed key movie roles. He still tours as a comedian and will be performing in Atlantic City, NJ in October, 2010
